Walt Disney World isn’t just for the young, but also for the young at heart! Yes, a Walt Disney World Vacation has more to offer adults than Dumbo the Flying Elephant and spinning teacups. In addition to award-winning dining and luxury resort hotels, Disney World offers signature quality and service where everything is an experience.

Top 5 Highest Rated Hollywood Studios Attractions for Adults

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is one of the few Disney World attractions intentionally geared towards an older audience. Classic rock fans will be familiar with the Aerosmith soundtrack, and thrill junkie adults will love the crazy fast launch and inversions.

Also, sound techies and music lovers alike will appreciate the 125-speaker, 24-subwoofer, 32,000-watt audio system built into the coaster’s super-stretch limo ride vehicles!

4. Slinky Dog Dash

Top 5 Highest Rated Hollywood Studios Attractions for Adults Slinky Dog Dash is a mild outdoor coaster designed to look as if Andy constructed it in his backyard using Tinkertoys, his new Dash & Dodge Mega Coaster Playkit, and Slinky Dog as the coaster’s train.

Of the three adult age groups, adults over 30 years actually granted Slinky Dog Dash the highest rating. Still, Slinky Dog Dash managed to still score well among young adults and seniors.

Young Adults Rating: 4.6

Adults Over 30 Rating: 4.7

Seniors Rating: 4.5

Why Do Adults Love Slinky Dog Dash?

Top 5 Highest Rated Hollywood Studios Attractions for Adults Despite its theme and backstory, this coaster just may be the perfect coaster for adults. It’s entertaining enough for thrill-seekers but smooth and gentle enough for adults prone to motion sickness or who prefer calmer rides. It also means Slinky Dog Dash is a ride both parents and kids will enjoy together.

It’s also worth mentioning that Slinky Dog Dash’s elevated track offers gorgeous views of Toy Story Land, especially at night when the land is lit up and the track glows!

3. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Tower of Terror

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is a free-fall drop ride within a story and setting inspired by The Twilight Zone television series. The premise is the Hollywood Tower Hotel was struck by lightning on October 31, 1939. A whole section of the hotel, along with an elevator carrying five individuals, plummeted and its occupants mysteriously disappeared.

Guests checking into the hotel today will find the front severely scorched from the lightning strike, as well as a dusty hotel lobby seemingly frozen in time before boarding a maintenance elevator for a trip into the Twilight Zone!

Young Adults Rating: 4.8

Adults Over 30 Rating: 4.7

Seniors Rating: 4.5

Why Do Adults Love the Tower of Terror?

Top 5 Highest Rated Hollywood Studios Attractions for Adults Fans of the classic Twilight Zone television series will no doubt enjoy the theme, but all adults will appreciate the level of detail and immersion. Also, unlike other amusement park drop rides, Tower of Terror doesn’t drop just once but multiple times at random offering a different experience each time.

2. Toy Story Mania

Top 5 Highest Rated Hollywood Studios Attractions for Adults Toy Story Mania can best be described as a virtual dark ride through an interactive midway-style shooting gallery. The premise for this attraction is Andy has a new midway carnival game that Woody, Buzz, and the gang are having some fun with. Guests, who have been shrunk down to the size of a toy, are going to test their skills at the individual games and compete for the highest score.

Toy Story Mania is the only attraction in this list to achieve the same rating from all adult age groups!

Young Adults Rating: 4.7

Adults Over 30 Rating: 4.7

Seniors Rating: 4.7

Why Do Adults Love the Toy Story Mania?

Top 5 Highest Rated Hollywood Studios Attractions for Adults Toy Story Mania’s user-friendly interactivity is great for kids and non-techie adults, but it’s also challenging enough for other adults and even hard-core gamers. PHOTOS – The Holidays Start to Arrive at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

This weekend marked a weird time at Walt Disney World, in which Halloween decorations and goodies remained, but Christmas and winter holiday decorations started to appear. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a favorite for the holidays among many Disney fans thanks to its 1940s-inspired décor. When the Echo Lake Christmas decorations debuted a few years ago it elevated this park’s holiday offerings, which were lacking due to the loss of the Osborne Lights.

The decorations were just getting started at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this weekend. We’ll definitely be back to show you the rest of the decorations once they’re fully up, and to show you the changes that 2020 brings to the normal holiday lineup at this park themed around Tinsel Town.

News: Disney World’s Rise of the Resistance Reportedly Won’t Use Boarding Groups At Reopening

It’s been quite the day so far with exciting news coming out of Disney World. For those itching to get back to Galaxy’s Edge when Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopens in Disney World on July 15, they may be happy to know that many of the major attractions and shops will be open.

News: Disney World’s Rise of the Resistance Reportedly Won’t Use Boarding Groups At Reopening

Lieutenant Beck on Rise of the Resistance

And yep — the reopening list includes the fan favorite Rise of the Resistance! This attraction has been the must-ride choice since it opened in August of 2019.

But we’re also getting word of another MAJOR development that will change the way we’ve come to experience “getting in line” for this ride!

We just confirmed via the Disney World website chat system that Disney World will not use any virtual queues (i.e lines for rides that are managed digitally, so you “join” them from a smartphone app). This was a possibility we had discussed in the past, and we know now that it looks like only standby (regular, good ol’ ride lines) will be available for Disney World’s rides and attractions.

Further, reporter Scott Gustin confirmed that this mandate includes Rise of the Resistance.

NEW: Disney has told Cast Members there will be no virtual queues used for attractions when parks reopen. This includes Rise of the Resistance. Single rider lines will also not be utilized.

This information has not been posted online (yet) but Cast Members have been informed.

— Scott Gustin (@ScottGustin) June 20, 2020

That’s right, as of right now (things change ALL the time, however) if you want to join forces with the Resistance and take on the First Order, it sounds like your ONLY option will be a traditional standby queue. In addition to no virtual queues, there will be no Single Rider lines at any attractions, and the entire FastPass+ system has been temporarily suspended for the time being).

News: Disney World’s Rise of the Resistance Reportedly Won’t Use Boarding Groups At Reopening

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Rise of the Resistance was a major development in virtual queueing for Disney World. When the attraction first opened, guests had to join a Boarding Group, assigned at random, via the My Disney Experience app on their smartphones.

Rise of the Resistance Boarding Groups Sign

Due to the immense popularity of the ride, these Boarding Groups were snatched up FAST. And anyone who wanted to ride essentially needed to be INSIDE the park gates before the official opening time to have a chance at riding!

Now, it looks as though anyone in Disney’s Hollywood Studios each day will have an equal shot to ride via standby queue. But to get the best chance to ride without too long a queue, you’ll want to arrive as EARLY as possible! May the force be with you!

Have you been on Rise of the Resistance yet? What do you think of folks only being able to wait in a standby queue for this attraction? Let us know in the comments!

Here’s What Qualifies — and Doesn’t Qualify — as a Mask in Disney World!

As the Walt Disney World theme parks prepare to welcome guests again, it’s only natural that there are questions GALORE!

Here’s What Qualifies — and Doesn’t Qualify — as a Mask in Disney World!

Early Morning at Cinderella Castle

There are a LOT of new guidelines and policies to keep up with. Don’t worry if you’re still super confused, because we’ve got ya covered…literally!

Wearing a face covering is going to be one of the BIGGEST adjustments guests will have to make when visiting the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom when they reopen on July 11th and Epcot and Hollywood Studios when they reopen on July 15th.

Here’s What Qualifies — and Doesn’t Qualify — as a Mask in Disney World!

But before you go, you may be wondering: Who has to wear a face covering? When do you have to wear a face covering? What even IS a face covering?!

Who has to wear a face covering?

A recent update confirmed that Cast Members and ALL guests ages TWO and up will be required to wear a face covering while at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Here’s What Qualifies — and Doesn’t Qualify — as a Mask in Disney World!

American Threads Face Masks at Disney Springs

According to Disney, you need to bring your own face mask.

Where do you have to wear a face mask?

We already know you need to wear a face mask while visiting Disney Springs, and you’ll have to wear them all around the theme parks. Additionally, hotel guests will have to wear face masks while in common areas of the resort, according to a Disney rep.

Here’s What Qualifies — and Doesn’t Qualify — as a Mask in Disney World!

Disney will require guests to wear face masks unless eating or swimming while at a resort hotel

As previously reported, you will NOT have to wear your face covering when dining and swimming! Guests also will not be required to wear a mask while in their own rooms.

In the proposal Disney offered to the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force, it was mentioned they may be offering “relaxation zones.”

Guests with Face Coverings in Disney Springs

These are spots “in and around and off the property” where folks can remove their face coverings for a while and breathe in that fresh Florida air. Universal Studios introduced similar locations when they reopened, called URest areas.

What counts as a face covering?

That’s two big questions out of the way! But you might still be wondering… what counts as a face covering at Disney World?

Here’s What Qualifies — and Doesn’t Qualify — as a Mask in Disney World!

Cast Member with required face mask

The CDC has great information regarding face coverings! But since we’re here for Disney World, it’s important to note that the Disney World website currently states the following in regard to face coverings. They must:

  1. Fully cover an individual’s nose and mouth and allow the guest to remain hands-free
  2. Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
  3. Be secured with ties or ear loops
  4. Be made of breathable material, either disposable or reusable

So, what constitutes as a face mask?!  Scarves tied snugly around your face, gaiters, buffs, disposable or reusable masks (including bandanas), and handmade or homemade masks are all examples of what is allowed Disney World.

Here’s What Qualifies — and Doesn’t Qualify — as a Mask in Disney World!

Monsters Inc. Bandanas

When it comes to religious coverings, the most important thing to note is that your face and nose MUST be covered and your covering should fit snugly against the side of your face. If you are unsure whether or not your religious covering will be approved as a face mask, it’s best to bring an alternative with you JUST IN CASE! And it’s important to note that Disney can change its face covering policy at any time!

Here’s What Qualifies — and Doesn’t Qualify — as a Mask in Disney World!

Face Masks at American Threads

One quick note here to remember is that the rules regarding costumes and masks still apply! Sorry to those who thought they would be able to get away wearing their Darth Vader masks as face coverings! Costume helmets/masks, ski masks, or anything else that covers the entire face (excluding religious coverings) are also BIG no-nos at Walt Disney World.

Here’s What Qualifies — and Doesn’t Qualify — as a Mask in Disney World!

Disney Springs Planet Hollywood Server

A Cast Member we spoke with said face shields are also an acceptable face covering since they cover the nose and mouth. They haven’t seen many folks wearing face shields, but they’re allowed.

While it’s been reported that Disney Springs has a very limited amount of disposable masks for those who show up without one, it’s SUPER important to note that you shouldn’t rely on them! Definitely bring your own!

What will happen if you refuse to wear a face covering?

Face coverings will be required…but what will happen if you refuse to wear one? With increased security and social distancing squads on the lookout for face coverings, it’s HIGHLY likely that those without proper face coverings or those disobeying the guidelines will be quickly addressed! So be sure to cover up!

Here’s What Qualifies — and Doesn’t Qualify — as a Mask in Disney World!

Guest Relations Cast Member in Disney Springs

In compliance with Osceola County law, you WILL be required to wear face masks at Disney World once it reopens. Don’t let that get you down, though! Use your mask as just another Disney accessory! If you’re stuck picking a fun mask and need a little inspiration, check out these ADORABLE face coverings!
