PHOTOS – Holiday Crowds Lighten Up at Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Some of us have our holiday decorations packed away, others have a garage full of boxes waiting for the process to begin. Magic Kingdom is of the latter variety as of yesterday’s visit. (My home falls into this category too.) Ivonne on our team did a little park hopping from Magic Kingdom to Hollywood Studios, which incidentally were the two busiest parks yesterday. Let’s take a look at the crowds, and the spectacular weather too.

One thing that is sure to catch your attention is the work being done at Tom Sawyer Island. How interesting to see pickup trucks in the dried-up waterway.

After a nice early afternoon at Magic Kingdom, Ivonne park hopped over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is so nice to have park hopping back again. Here’s what we’ve experienced with the new park hopping procedures.

The Regular Disney Character Cavalcades are BACK at Magic Kingdom

Although the holiday decorations are still up, the Christmas and winter holiday sparkle is starting to fade at Magic Kingdom. Yesterday our team was welcomed to the Magic Kingdom with the return of the regular character cavalcades at Magic Kingdom.

These character cavalcades are individual sections of two different parades. The regular parade that would normally march through Magic Kingdom at 3:00 p.m. every day is now broken up into individual sections that run along the parade route of Magic Kingdom at unscheduled time. These are also cavalcades that are portions of the Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party.

It looks a little strange to see the Christmas decorations still up with the regular cavalcades moving through the streets, but we expect the holiday decorations to be packed away very, very soon. If you want to make sure you don’t miss out on seeing your favorite character, check out our tips on viewing the character cavalcades at Magic Kingdom.

Have you visited Magic Kingdom and seen any of the cavalcades? Which is your favorite?

PHOTOS – An Increase in Capacity is Being Tested at it’s a small world

There’s evidence of Disney increasing the capacity of certain attractions throughout Walt Disney World, including it’s a small world. At Magic Kingdom yesterday our team noticed one of the boats at it’s a small world now has plexiglass at every row of the boat. Since the reopening in July 2020, most boat-style rides at Walt Disney World were being loaded at every other row, without any plexiglass dividers.

With this boat at it’s a small world it is clear Disney is testing out increasing the capacity of this attraction, at the very least. This is purely speculation, but it would stand to reason that such changes could be implemented at other boat-style attractions such as Pirates of the Caribbean. These type of attractions have seen their average wait times increase beyond what is typical due to the physical distancing being followed.

We’re at the parks daily so we can ensure our Lines app and other tools are up-to-date. We’ll keep you updated as things progress.

Have you been to Walt Disney World recently? How do you feel about the potential for ride capacity to be increased through the use of plexiglass dividers?

PHOTOS – Saying Farewell to Halloween at Magic Kingdom

Farewell, Halloween 2020, you certainly were the most unique Halloweens of my adulthood. It’s been nice celebrating Halloween at Magic Kingdom for well over a month. But yesterday marked the end of Halloween at Walt Disney World, and some of the holiday season has started to sprinkle in. Our field research team, and Len himself, were at Magic Kingdom yesterday and we’d like to share with you some of our favorite photos from yesterday’s visit.

We loved having the Cadaver Dans performing what is normally their show reserved for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in recent weeks. It’s been a real treat. And it’s been fun seeing guests wear costumes during the day. Yesterday was the last day costumes could be worn by guests at Magic Kingdom and boy did we see some great costumes! But first, Len needs his traditional pretzel breakfast!

It was a little slow in the morning at Magic Kingdom, but as soon as lunch time hit we saw the crowds we’ve been expecting this weekend. We also saw the arrival of poinsettias in Main Street Town Square as Christmas décor gets ready to move in.

Which holiday season do you like the best, Spooky Season or the Christmas and Winter Holiday Season?
