BREAKING NEWS: Disney World’s Epcot Food and Wine Festival Is BACK! And It Starts SOON!

Epcot Food and Wine Festival

And now, Disney has just announced Epcot will be offering a modified version of its Epcot Food and Wine Festival starting on the very first day of its initial grand reopening! July 15th!!

A Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will feature 20 signature global marketplaces spaced throughout the park.

Popular food booths from Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival will be returning including Hawaii, Hops & Barley, and Islands of the Caribbean!

We’re also told elements of Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival (which was cut short this year due to the temporary closures) will be “sprinkled in” with the global goodies of Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival. The new Remy topiary will be out in the France pavilion and Flower & Garden merchandise will also be for sale. So…this will basically be a hybrid Food and Wine and Flower and Garden Festival…which is kind of awesome!

Remy Topiary at Ecpot’s Flower and Garden Festival

The festival is scheduled to be EPCOT’s LONGEST EVER, continuing through the fall!

Remy’s Ratatouille Hide and Squeak scavenger hunt returns and Food & Wine merchandise will join the party later this year! But sadly, the Eat to the Beat concerts have been canceled for 2020.

We’ll share more details with you about this new hybrid festival as they’re released!

What do you think of Disney offering this festival to guests? Let us know if you’d be interested it in attending in the comments below!

Are Disney World Buffets Changing It Up? Here’s What We Know.

Select Disney World hotels are getting ready to welcome back guests next week and the theme parks are gearing up for their July 11th and July 15th grand reopenings!

Are Disney World Buffets Changing It Up? Here’s What We Know.

Magic Kingdom

And according to a recent post on Unite Here Local 737’s Facebook page, we’ve just learned of a few more groups of restaurant Cast Members that are being asked to return to work.

We’ve been combing over this list of restaurants, and picking out a few areas of interest. First, we noted Epcot’s Festival Cast Members were being asked to return — although Disney hasn’t released any official information about the Epcot festivals yet.

Are Disney World Buffets Changing It Up? Here’s What We Know.

Disney World

Also, Be Our Guest Restaurant’s Cast Members are getting recalled — but potentially only for its table service dinner option at this time. Will its fast-casual breakfast and lunch be temporarily discontinued? We’ll have to await the official word from Disney World regarding the status of this restaurant, but we’ll be super-curious until we learn more!

Be Our Guest Ballroom

But that’s not all we found out today, we also spotted a sidenote which read, “Family Style” next to Biergarten Restaurant in Epcot’s World Showcase and Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort! This may be an indication that these restaurants will be offering platefuls of help-yourself offerings instead of their standard serve-yourself buffets for the time being.

Chef Mickey’s

Based on what has been shared, Cast Members at other restaurants such as Magic Kingdom’s Crystal Palace or Animal Kingdom’s Tusker House Restaurant have NOT been called back yet. So we don’t know Disney’s plans for these buffet locations just yet.

And keep in mind, while Chef Mickey’s normally offers character dining Disney has shared that character dining will be unavailable for the time being, and at this time the only confirmed character meal that’s returning is Topolino Terrace’s breakfast which you can learn more about here.

What do you think about the possibility of some Disney World buffets switching over to family-style? Let us know if you’d still dine at one of these restaurants in the comments below!

Disney World’s theme parks are gearing up to reopen next month, and to prepare several Disney World resort hotels are getting ready to welcome back guests starting next week!

NEWS! Disney World Just Changed A LOT Of Menus, and We’ve Got The DETAILS!

Walt Disney World

But if you’re looking forward to enjoying one of your favorite meals at one of these Disney World restaurants, you might be out of luck!

Just like we saw right before several restaurants reopened in Disney Springs, menus are getting slashed left and right! We’ve seen lots of starters, appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, desserts, and kids’ menu selections fly out the window today! But don’t worry — it’s not all bad news! Several restaurants have added a bunch of new boozy drinks! Let’s find out if your favorite menu items have survived the chopping block.

Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort

Beaches & Cream

One of our favorite spots to eat at Disney World is Beaches & Cream! So far, they’ve cut the Beaches & Cream Salad, Patty Melt, Turkey and Applewood-smoked Bacon Sandwich, and Salmon Sandwich with Bacon Aioli from the menu.

It’s important to note that all of these menu changes MAY be temporary. Plenty of spots in Disney Springs have been offering limited menus upon reopening, and there’s no indication those cuts are permanent. The same very well COULD apply to these Disney World restaurants.

Those are all the menu changes we’ve noticed so far, but we’ll be on the lookout for more, especially now that we know when Disney World hotel guests will be able to book dining reservations once again!

Did your favorite menu item get slashed? Let us know if your favorite foods survived this round of Disney World menu cuts in the comments below!

REVIEW and PHOTOS: This Crazy Popular Treat Is GONE in Disney World…But There’s A Brand New Replacement…

We’re desperately trying not to hyperventilate, but there is some pretty interesting news coming out of Disney Springs this morning regarding one of our favorite baked goods!

REVIEW and PHOTOS: This Crazy Popular Treat Is GONE in Disney World…But There’s A Brand New Replacement…

Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookies

As you know by now, The Polite Pig‘s Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookie is one of the cornerstones of our diets, but as of today these half-pound miracles that are studded all over with chocolate chips have disappeared and aren’t likely to RETURN!

But before you go crawling into a corner, here’s some good news! You’ll still be able to get your Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookies at the bakery’s main location in Downtown Orlando (whew!). AND The Polite Pig has replaced them with a new signature item called they’re calling the Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie!

REVIEW and PHOTOS: This Crazy Popular Treat Is GONE in Disney World…But There’s A Brand New Replacement…

Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie

At first glance, this new Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie looks remarkably similar to a Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookie, but we can assure you they aren’t the same! Even though this cookie is also loaded for bear with chocolate chips and even has flecks of salt sprinkled over it, just LOOK at how much flatter it is!

REVIEW and PHOTOS: This Crazy Popular Treat Is GONE in Disney World…But There’s A Brand New Replacement…

Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie

But if you’re like us, you’re probably more concerned with how this new cookie tastes! We were told it’s The Polite Pig’s new exclusive recipe and it even has a little bit of Evan Williams Bourbon in it! We took our first bite not knowing what the future would hold in store for us and this new cookie substitute we gotta say — this new Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie is actually quite tasty!

REVIEW and PHOTOS: This Crazy Popular Treat Is GONE in Disney World…But There’s A Brand New Replacement…

Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie

It has some cinnamon notes from the bourbon which we noticed more with each glorious bite. And unlike Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookies which so so super-rich we often can’t finish them in one sitting, this one was pretty easy to polish off! It’s definitely a soft, delicious cookie that’s not as buttery than Gideon’s. It also noticeably less chewy and has more of that half-baked texture that we happen to love in a cookie!

REVIEW and PHOTOS: This Crazy Popular Treat Is GONE in Disney World…But There’s A Brand New Replacement…

Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie

That’s not to say we’re forsaking our love of Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookies, but The Polite Pig’s new Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookie definitely stands up on its own. It would be amazing with a glass of bourbon or an Old Fashion whereas a Gideon’s always made us crave a glass of milk!

And unlike Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookies, there’s no limit on how many Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookies you may buy at one time! They cost $5 and are available all day long ( or until they sell out)! The Polite Pig says they’re hoping to add more cookie recipes to their repertoire someday, and we can’t be made about any of their recent menu changes which also includes new Pork Rinds with spicy pimento dipping sauce, Shrimp and Grits and Creamed Florida Corn because the results have been delicious!

What do you think of The Polite Pig removing Gideon Bakehouse Cookies and replacing them with their own recipe? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
