PHOTOS: SeaWorld Orlando is Crushin’ the Reopening Merch Game!

We are LIVE at the Grand Reopening of SeaWorld Orlando today! We’re here to check out things like crowd levels, entertainment options, and the park’s new health and safety procedures upon reopening.

SeaWorld Orlando

As we began our day, we couldn’t resist stopping in one of SeaWorld’s gift shops… and we also can’t resist sharing some of our finds with you, because SeaWorld has delivered some pretty unique merchandise to commemorate the reopening!

Before we check out the new t-shirts on display, just a note that the shop has markers on the floor to remind you to keep a safe distance as you peruse. (You’ll see similar reminders on the park grounds outside, too.)

And with that, SeaWorld says…

SeaWorld Orlando Reopening T-Shirts

“WHALECOME BACK!”

Another t-shirt reminds that We Are All In This Together… even while we stay 6 Feet Apart.

It’s available in gray and pink.

Of course, maybe instead of togetherness, you consider yourself more of a Social Distance Expert… like THIS GUY!!

And there are additional new items available upon reopening, too.

SeaWorld Orlando Face Masks

In case you missed it earlier, there are reusable Face Masks available for purchase (as they are required for guests to wear throughout the park).

SeaWorld Orlando Reservations Only Available For Select Days of the Week

Orlando theme parks are working through the reopening process, and things are a little different!

©SeaWorld

SeaWorld is set to reopen one month ahead of Disney on June 11th. Today, a new reservation system launched to help SeaWorld Orlando to limit capacity in all of their theme parks, but the process might have told us something else. It appears that reservations are only available for select days of the week. So, by the looks of it, SeaWorld may remain closed select days of the week for the time being. Take a look!

When selecting our date for our reservations, we noticed that many of the calendar dates were blocked out or marked as “Closed.” SeaWorld park, for instance, is not currently accepting reservations for Tuesdays or Thursdays after the initial reopening date.

As for Aquatica, the park is marked as “Closed” on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Aquatica Reservation System

Discovery Cove has the fewest days open each week after the initial opening. The reservation system is only accepting reservations for dates Friday through Monday. As of now, these limited days are reflected from the June reopening through the end of 2020.

Discovery Cove Reservation System

This is the first we’ve noticed any sign of SeaWorld only opening select days of the week so we’ll be sure to keep an eye out for what this means! Keep up with DFB for more Orlando theme park coverage!

Reservations for the SeaWorld Orlando Theme Parks are Available NOW

Disney World isn’t the only Florida theme park with its eye on reopening!

©SeaWorld

SeaWorld Orlando reopening plan has been approved and the park will reopen on June 11th. SeaWorld has shared that the park is going to use a guest reservations system — potentially like the one we expect to see in Disney. So, if you want to get your SeaWorld on, get ready because SeaWorld theme park guest reservations are available NOW!

Reservations for SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica, and Discovery Cove became available this morning on the respective websites. You can find SeaWorld Orlando reservations here, Aquatica reservations here, and Discovery Cove reservations here.

SeaWorld Reservation System

To make a reservation, you use the portal that applies to you — Pass Member Reservation, Fun Card Holder Reservation, or Ticket Holder Reservation. Then, you select from the available dates on the calendar.

SeaWorld Reservation System

As long as there is availability, your reservation will be confirmed!

From there, you’ll get an email confirming your reservation, and you’ll be able to find your reservation in the SeaWorld app.

SeaWorld Reservation System

All guests with existing tickets, Fun Cards, or Annual Passes are required to make a reservation in advance to be admitted to the park. If you have already purchased a date-specific single day ticket, then you do NOT need to make a reservation. Bring your reservation confirmation along with your park entry to get into the parks.

We’re super interested to see how this reservation system works out to help limit theme park capacity. After all, we have some questions about what getting back into Disney will look like! Perhaps the processes at SeaWorld will shed some light on what we can expect!

NEWS: SeaWorld to Use Guest Reservation System Upon Reopening Theme Parks

SeaWorld pitched their June 11th reopening date the same day that Disney World announced theirs.

Since then, SeaWorld’s reopening has been approved and they are beginning to move towards the reopening of SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando, and Discovery Cove a week from today. Now, they’ve announced that the parks will require reservations and they’ve launched a new safety webpage for each of the parks.

The new safety websites for the three parks help to detail information about the health measures and operational changes that will be implemented in the parks like cleaning and sanitizing, physical distancing, face-covering requirements, and information on temperature screenings.

You can see the SeaWorld Orlando Safety Page here, the Aquatica Orlando Safety Page here, and the Discovery Cove Safety Page here.

The company also announced that all of the reopening theme parks will require advance online reservations. Guests will be required to make a reservation on the individual reservation pages for the parks (SeaWorld, Aquatica, and Discovery Cove). Reservations will be required for entry so as to limit compacity in the parks. You can make reservations starting at 10AM ET on June 8th.

Disney World will be requiring a reservation to enter the parks as well. At this time, Universal Orlando will NOT require a reservation to enter their theme parks, but they will be operating at a limited capacity. We will see what processes they implement once the parks hit capacity when they reopen to the public tomorrow.

We will continue to report in on the updates on Florida theme parks to get an idea of what we can expect in Disney World.  Follow along with DFB for all the latest news!

BREAKING NEWS: SeaWorld Orlando Announces a Proposed Reopening Date of June 11th

Just now, SeaWorld Orlando has proposed a reopening date.

©SeaWorld

Some smaller Orlando attractions like Fun Spot and Gatorland have already reopened, and Universal Orlando Resort has announced its parks will welcome back the general public on June 5th. Last week, SeaWorld Orlando ran tests of their Mako Coaster with masked riders, and now they have submitted a proposed date for reopening as well!

At this morning’s Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force meeting, SeaWorld announced it plans to reopen to on June 10th for an employee appreciation night and June 11th for the general public.

Here are all the details from our visit to the recently reopened Disney Springs!

SeaWorld’s tentative reopening date still needs approval by Florida’s Governor Ron Desantis before it’s official.

©SeaWorld

SeaWorld also presented it’s new health and safety protocols upon the theme park’s reopening. These will include mandatory face masks for all employees and guests over the age of two as well as temperature screenings for everyone entering the park.

©SeaWorld

Additionally, social distancing markers will also be placed on the ground throughout the park (especially in areas where crowds are likely to form) while cleaning and sanitation practices will be ramped up. Employees will be receiving specific training on the park’s new safety procedures and are being instructed to stay home if they exhibit any flu-like symptoms.

©SeaWorld

SeaWorld will provide contactless entry to guests while the park’s restaurants will be rearranging seating to promote physical distancing between parties as they dine, and sanitizing tables and chairs after each group leaves. Condiment and topping stations will be closed while refillable items guests may have purchased previously will be substituted with single-use products. Shops will have defined entry and exit points while and certain animal viewing areas and exhibits will operate with social distancing markers and limited capacity.

Several Orlando-area theme parks have already reopened, as have many stores and restaurants at Disney Springs and CityWalk at Universal Orlando. Now it looks like SeaWorld will soon be joining the list of reopened Central Florida attractions pending the Governor’s final approval!

More details are being released at this time. We will update this post with all of those details.
