NEWS: Guests With General Admission Tickets for Shanghai Disneyland May Now Make Advanced Reservations to Visit the Park

Shanghai Disneyland reopened to guests on May 11th. In order to limit guest capacity as part of the new health and safety measures, guests have been required to purchase dated admission tickets ahead of their visit to enter the park while Annual Passholders have been required to make a reservation.

To this point, previously purchased General Admission tickets have not been accepted. However, an update to the Disneyland Shanghai website advises guests that — starting today, June 1st, guests with General Admission tickets will be able to make a reservation to visit the park for the dates of June 3rd through June 7th.

The website also instructs guests on how to make a reservation with a list of One-Day General Admission Ticket Advanced Reservation Procedures and Requirements. Though as of today, June 1st, reservations are only available for the dates of June 3rd through June 7th, reservations will continue to become available on a six-day reservation calendar basis.

The instructions state that: “From 13:00, June 2, reservations for park visits on June 8 will be available to guests. From 13:00 every day starting June 3, we will open a six-day reservation calendar. Guests cannot make a reservation for a visit on the same date as the reservation. The reservation system will be updated at 13:00 each day, with a limited daily quota.”

Guests should also be advised that ‘the validity period of a One-Day General Admission Ticket will be extended for the number of lost days falling between the park’s closure date of January 25, 2020 and the end of the “Advanced Reservation Period.” ‘

Interested guests can learn more by visiting the Shanghai Disneyland Resort website.

It’s also worth mentioning that — while we await further details — Walt Disney World Resort plans to implement a theme park reservation system when Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom reopen to guests on July 11th, followed by EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15th. Shanghai Disneyland Is Already Making Progress Less Than Two Weeks After Reopening!

Shanghai Disneyland has been re-opened for almost two weeks (can you believe it??).

While the hotels and parks have been welcoming guests again, Shanghai Disneyland has implemented multiple health and safety protocols to keep guests and Cast Members safe — including Health QR Codes, physical distancing, mask requirements, and more.

However, when the parks re-opened, there were a limited amount of attractions available to guests.

Parades and fireworks have been halted for the time being, along with play areas and theater shows. However, Shanghai Disneyland has still brought magic to the guests with the Mickey and Friends Express character processional several times during the day. They have also managed to promote social distancing while hosting the Evening Magical Moments — which lights up the Enchanted Storybook Castle and plays music at dusk daily.

But, since the parks have been open for a few weeks now, Shanghai Disneyland has started to slowly reopen other guest experiences. Although the park announced that they would be doing distanced character shows and entertainment, @gourmetdyy has been giving us a look at things available in Shanghai Disneyland currently!

Custodians at Shanghai Disneyland are bringing joy to guests through their water art, incredibly detailed paintings, and much more!

Since Shanghai Disneyland originally opened with limited attractions and restaurants, there are signs that Disney is progressing with reopening by bringing back select shows and dining locations. Some of the places you can visit now include Eye of the Storm: Captain Jack’s Stunt Spectacular, Frozen: A Sing-Along Celebration, and Tribal Table restaurant.

While Disney World and Disneyland may not be open open yet, Shanghai Disneyland’s health and safety protocols have allowed them to already progress their reopening in under two weeks. At this time, the only Disney attraction open in the U.S. is Disney Springs, but Disney World is set to propose a reopening date by next week. We will continue to keep you updated on Disney Parks news here!

Around the globe, we are beginning to see Disney make gradual steps towards reopening some of their parks and resorts. Let’s take a look at each of the resorts and see exactly what is open and available for guests.

Shanghai Disneyland

The Shanghai Disney Resort closed its gates on January 25, the first of the Disney resorts to do so amidst the global health crisis. Since then, they have made the most progress amongst all of the Disney resorts when it comes to reopening.

Shanghai Disneyland

On Monday, May 11, Shanghai Disneyland park REOPENEDSigns pointed to an impending reopening soon after reports emerged of their fireworks show being tested as well as quiet testing of new safety protocols.

While the park has opened its gates for the first time in over 100 days, several entertainment offerings will not be available initially for guests.

Walt Disney World

There are a number of services currently available in Disney World, despite the parks being closed since March 16.

On May 20, Disney Springs began a phased reopening. During this initial phase of reopening, only a limited amount of third party retailers and restaurants were open, with limited capacity and hours.

Several locations in Disney World have remained open throughout the duration of the park and resort closures. The golf courses have remained open (including FootGolf!). This does not include both of Disney World’s mini-golf courses.
