The Oriental Land Company has announced that the complimentary Priority Pass line-skipping service at Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea will cease operations after August 31, 2026. Originally introduced to commemorate the park’s 40th anniversary in July 2023, this digital system allowed guests to reserve specific return times for select attractions without additional fees. The free service functioned similarly to the former FastPass system but operated entirely through a mobile app with one reservation per ticket holder. Several theories exist regarding what will replace this popular feature, including conversion to paid Premier Access or elimination of line-skipping altogether in favor of standby queues only. Industry analysts suggest that monetizing these attractions aligns with OLC’s broader strategy to increase revenue and target higher-spending international tourists. The decision comes as the resort faces overcrowding challenges and seeks new growth opportunities beyond traditional ticket sales. Guests who currently rely on this free service may need to adjust their visit planning strategies accordingly.
