Universal Kids Resort officially opened its doors on July 1, 2026, following a preview visit in late June. The resort has implemented several improvements since the initial tour, including the installation of umbrellas at many outdoor dining tables to provide much-needed shade from the Texas heat. Bello Bay Boutique and Bites received significant upgrades with covered seating areas and new landscaping that includes dozens of plants and large trees. Additional umbrellas were added near Swamp Snacks, located next to the Shrek and Fiona meet-and-greet area. While the theater near Isle of Curiosity remains partially operational with only a pre-show area open, guests can enjoy comfortable air conditioning in this space. The resort features a Starbucks cafe hybrid offering familiar coffee and tea beverages alongside salad, pizza, and pastry options for exterior seating. Practical amenities include rental desks for strollers, scooters, and wheelchairs, as well as locker rentals with various size options at standard rates. Cash conversion machines are available to provide prepaid Visa cards for guests who prefer using cash instead of cards. The resort also includes numerous splash pads throughout the park, though only one location offers changing rooms without benches or hooks. Universal appears committed to addressing guest concerns through ongoing improvements and new landscaping efforts.
