Universal Orlando Announces Ride Refurbishments and Park Changes for 2026

Universal Orlando is implementing several temporary ride refurbishments and permanent closures across its parks, including a one-week shutdown for Le Cirque Arcanus. The Harry Potter stage show will close from June 21 through June 30, 2026, to address operational issues that have led to frequent cancellations. Universal CFO Jason Armstrong recently indicated that Epic Universe is not yet at full capacity and expects this status by the end of 2026. Recent data shows a significant improvement in wait times, with June 2026 averages dropping to 47 minutes compared to 63 minutes the previous year. Construction is also underway at the Lost Continent area, where Mythos Restaurant will permanently close in 2027 to make way for a new themed zone. Additionally, Thunder Falls Terrace in Jurassic Park will transform into a new dining concept later this summer. The Express Pass line for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure has also been removed from eligible passes as part of recent changes. While some updates are temporary, the park continues to evolve with major renovations and new attractions planned for future years. Visitors are advised to check updated schedules before planning their trips to avoid unexpected closures or delays. The overall trend suggests Universal is working toward improved efficiency and guest experience across its Orlando destinations.
