Universal Studios Hollywood has introduced significant security changes affecting how visitors access both CityWalk and the theme park. The new system features three metal detection hubs located at the main entry plaza, near the Jurassic Parking structure, and adjacent to Margaritaville. A company spokesperson stated these measures align with other Universal destinations by placing security checkpoints next to parking areas. Previously, guests entered CityWalk before encountering security checks, but now CityWalk sits within a secured perimeter similar to Disneyland Resort operations. This strategic adjustment aims to enhance safety while preparing for increased visitor numbers from major events like the FIFA World Cup and 2028 Summer Olympics. The updated protocol requires all visitors to pass through security before accessing CityWalk, marking a notable evolution in destination management. These changes reflect ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency and guest experience across the Universal Studios ecosystem.
