Aerial Photos Show Jurassic Park River Adventure Refurbishment Progress at Universal Orlando Park

Recent aerial photography from bioreconstruct provides an updated view of the extensive renovation work currently underway on the Jurassic Park River Adventure attraction at Universal Islands of Adventure. The beloved ride is undergoing an eleven-month, multi-million dollar transformation that has turned the area into one of the most active construction zones within the park. These overhead images reveal that waterways have been completely drained, exposing large sections of track and granting crews access to areas normally hidden beneath the water surface. Construction activity is visible throughout the attraction, including ongoing work at the paddock area where new walls and infrastructure are taking shape. One of the most exciting developments captured in these photos is the visible refurbishment of the Ultrasaurus figure, with close-up images showing the massive dinosaur animatronic partially disassembled as crews restore this iconic creature. The return of major mechanical figures like Ultrasaurus serves as a promising sign for fans hoping to see the attraction refreshed with upgraded effects and restored show elements upon reopening. Ride boats have returned to the track for testing and maintenance purposes, while scaffolding remains in place around portions of the attraction highlighting the scale of this ongoing project. Jurassic Park River Adventure officially closed earlier this year for this lengthy refurbishment and is currently scheduled to remain closed through November 19, 2026. When the attraction reopens, guests can expect a significantly refreshed adventure through Isla Nublar with upgraded ride systems and restored show scenes.
