Disney Fans Magically Transform their Pool into the Jungle Cruise from the Disney Parks

Disney Fans Magically Transform their Pool into the Jungle Cruise from the Disney Parks. The Stuckey Family from Houston, Texas has been feeling a bit stuck in quarantine and decided to turn their pool into the world famous Jungle Cruise to help pass the time. The whole family got involved with shooting their own rendition of The Jungle Cruise including many of the iconic jokes from the popular attraction in the Disney Parks.

“Family transforms backyard pool into the Jungle Cruise!! The Coronavirus quarantine got to us! Take a wild ride through the Jungle with a miniature skipper and his crazy crew! Come with us and enjoy our Jungle Cruise! See what a family of six can make when they have a love for Disney an iPhone, wireless mic, pool, gimbal, and a fog machine — and end up spending far too much time at home by themselves. Can anyone else say stir crazy!!?”

You can check out the full video below:

The World Famous Jungle Cruise has been a beloved Disney Parks attraction since the opening of Disneyland on July 17, 1955. The Jungle Cruise remains so popular it recently sparked the creation of a film of the same name! Check out the synopsis for the film below:

“Dr. Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt) enlists the aid of wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff (Dwayne Johnson) to take her down the Amazon in his ramshackle boat. Together, they search for an ancient tree that holds the power to heal — a discovery that will change the future of medicine.” The Jungle Cruise is scheduled to release in theaters July 31, 2021.

We love seeing all the fan made videos featuring our favorite “at home” Disney attractions! Which videos do you love the most? I am partial to the Splash Mountain video myself, hehehe. We would love to hear your choice in the comments. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for all things Disney!

Disney Announces ‘Frozen’ Will Not Return to Broadway after Theaters Reopen

Disney Announces ‘Frozen‘ Will Not Return to Broadway after Theaters Reopen. The news was shared by Thomas Schumacher, the president of Disney Theatrical Productions in a letter to his staff.

The letter addressed how it is believed Frozen would not bring in the audiences needed to recoup losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic and has subsequently been cancelled. Having performed the “weakest” out of the three shows featured on Broadway in 2020, it seems natural the company would chose to close Frozen in favor of a new title that is more in demand by future audiences. “This difficult decision was made for several reasons but primarily because we believe that three Disney productions will be one too many titles to run successfully in Broadway’s new landscape,” shares Schumacher in the letter.

The letter also outlined that the company remains committed to “The Lion King” and “Aladdin” on Broadway, to “The Lion King” and “Mary Poppins” in London’s West End, and to touring productions of “The Lion King” and “Frozen” in North America and “The Lion King” in Britain. Schumacher shared a bit of insight into the future of Disney on Broadway and shared several new adaptions are currently in the works for the company including The Jungle Book, The Princess Bride, Bedknobs and Broomsticks and Hercules.

Disney Legend and famed composer Alan Menken has been hard at work with adapting Hercules for Broadway, but this is the first we have heard of The Jungle Book, The Princess Bride, and Bedknobs and Broomsticks being adapted for the stage! Disney Theatrical Productions is also working on overseas projects such as a revamping of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and Aida.

We are sorry to see DTP “Let it Go” sooner than expected, but we will still be able to enjoy the Broadway hit during the national tour later this year. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for all things Disney on Broadway!

Confirmed: A Percy Jackson Series is Coming to Disney+

Confirmed: A Percy Jackson Series is Coming to Disney+. After the launch of Disney+, and the welcome reception for original content on the streaming platform, it didn’t take fans of the Percy Jackson novels to plead their case to Disney about creating a live-action series for the new streaming platform. Well “demigods,” you asked and Disney answered.

Author Rick Riordan has been in talks with Disney since December 2019 and it seems the two have come to an agreement: Disney+ will be the home of a new live-action adaption of the Percy Jackson & the Olympians book series!

Riordan shared the news via Twitter, sharing: “Hey Percy Jackson fans, for the past decade, you’ve worked hard to champion a faithful on-screen adaptation of Percy Jackson’s world,” Riordan wrote in a note to fans on Twitter. “Some of you have even suggested it would be a good series for Disney+. We couldn’t agree more!”

“We can’t say much more at this stage but we are very excited about the idea of a live-action series of the highest quality, following the storyline of the original Percy Jackson five-book series, starting with The Lightning Thief in season one. Rest assured that Becky & I will be involved in person in every aspect of the show. There will be much more news in the future, but for now we have a lot go work to do! Buckle up, demigods. It’s going to be a fantastic, exciting ride!”

At the time of writing there have been no formal casting decisions and the only names tied to the project are currently Becky and Rick Riordan. It is currently unknown when the series will begin filming or when it will premiere on Disney+, but we are excited none-the-less!
