Knott’s Berry Farm’s immersive Ghost Town Alive experience celebrates its 10th anniversary with a significant storyline shift. The event’s fictional town of Calico now marks its 100th anniversary rather than 85th, after a time capsule reveals the town’s true origins. The capsule discloses that Calico was founded by Don Alberto Fernando Reyes De Ortiz Vallamonte and is actually 25 years older than believed. Furthermore, the town was sold to the Flumvassers of Timber Mountain Logging Company, placing it under Timberly Hills jurisdiction. This discovery raises questions about the town’s identity and worth beyond its physical structures. New director Andy Crocker and Vice President of Entertainment Payden Adams have reintroduced central antagonists in the form of the Flumvasser family. The season emphasizes guest-driven interactions and invitations to join, with over 30 characters populating the town daily. Notable new characters include Gordie Lerew who curates the Calico Historical Society, and journalist Nellie Wells inspired by historical figure Nellie Bly.
