Disney Expands North Service Area Marina Near Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World has received official approval from the South Florida Water Management District to expand its North Service Area Marina located near Magic Kingdom. The project will increase the dock area from approximately 3,400 square feet to 4,800 square feet, representing a roughly 41 percent increase in space for watercraft storage and maintenance. Disney plans to install floating dock extensions, construct new docking fingers, replace and relocate pilings, and dredge portions of the marina to provide additional clearance for boats. The expansion supports the resort’s growing fleet of watercraft and coincides with ongoing work to expand the ferryboat dock at Magic Kingdom. A fourth ferryboat is currently under construction at the site, signaling significant improvements to the park’s transportation infrastructure. Officials state that the improvements are not expected to negatively impact water quality or disrupt regular boat transportation for guests crossing Seven Seas Lagoon.
