Disney Extends Formula 1 Partnership Through 2028 with Pixar Cars Addition

Disney and Formula 1 have officially announced an extension of their global partnership through the year 2028. This multi-year collaboration, originally launched in 2025 under the “Fuel the Magic” initiative, now expands beyond Mickey & Friends to include characters from Pixar’s Cars franchise for the first time. The announcement was made at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, where attendees viewed exclusive previews of new merchandise and interactive experiences. Joss Hastings, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Disney Consumer Products, emphasized bringing Disney magic to fans through creative collaborations across various platforms. Emily Prazer from Formula 1 noted how the partnership merges two globally beloved brands around shared values of creativity and fan engagement. The initiative has already delivered significant cultural crossovers at major Grand Prix events including Las Vegas, China, Canada, and Britain. A record-breaking charity auction featuring a Mickey Mouse-inspired helmet raised over £151,000 for Make-A-Wish through this collaboration. Fans can now shop the new Disney and Pixar Cars Collection with Formula 1 starting August 14 online at DisneyStore.com. The partnership promises continued merchandise releases, trackside appearances, and team activations featuring Lightning McQueen and the Cars crew in upcoming race weekends.
