Disney Imagineering has introduced a groundbreaking innovation aboard the new Disney Adventure cruise ship. The company revealed a fully autonomous character called the Mobilator, which powers the Wall-E wagon in their stage show Remember. This complex machine operates independently without human intervention, utilizing advanced technology to navigate the stage precisely. Three distinct systems work together to track its position: Lidar signals reflectors on stage, wheel odometry counts rotations, and cameras scan embedded QR codes for accurate placement. The creation required extensive development over several years and incorporates approximately eight car batteries within its structure. This achievement represents a significant milestone in Disney Imagineering’s history of creating immersive entertainment experiences. The autonomous character brings beloved characters like Wall-E to life alongside favorites from Coco, The Little Mermaid, and Aladdin.
