Walt Disney Imagineering showcased the upcoming Tropical Americas land at Animal Kingdom during the 2026 D23 Expo in Anaheim. The exhibit featured detailed models of three major attractions: a new Encanto-themed dark ride, an Indiana Jones Adventure replacing DINOSAUR, and a critter carousel called Pueblo Esperanza. The Encanto attraction will transport guests inside the Madrigal Casita with Audio-Animatronics figures and unique ride vehicles made from household furniture. Indiana Jones will explore a Maya temple in search of mythical feathered serpent creatures like Kukulkan or Quetzalcoatl. The land is scheduled to open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2027, marking the first major expansion for Walt Disney World with a confirmed timeline before the next D23 Expo. This development aims to transform Animal Kingdom into a full-day destination by adding multiple new rides and experiences.
