Disney Updates Land Regulations Amid Major Construction Projects

The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District is updating its Land Development Regulations to align with the newly adopted 2045 Comprehensive Plan. These revisions will guide future development, conservation, and infrastructure decisions across the region. While the plan permits a potential fifth theme park, Disney currently has no plans for additional gates. Proposed changes include adjusted development limits, updated projections for land use by 2045, and stricter standards for water and wastewater systems. The district is also exploring floating solar facilities to generate renewable energy without consuming precious land space. Staff has recommended moving forward with these updates, which will complement ongoing projects like Piston Peak and Villains Land.
