Disney World Attractions Undergo Major Changes and Closures Through 2027

Disney World continues its ongoing transformation with several attractions closing for refurbishment or permanent relocation. Carousel of Progress will reopen in 2027 with modernized scenes and a new animatronic introduction, while the Rivers of America area is permanently closed to make way for the new Piston Peak Cars land. Multiple EPCOT pavilions are seeing significant changes, including the closure of DinoLand U.S.A. for Tropical Americas and ongoing construction at various resort hotels through 2027. Several dining locations like Mama Melrose’s and Jellyrolls have permanently closed, though some will relocate to new spaces in coming years. The Magic of Disney Animation is set to open in Animation Courtyard with interactive character experiences and a new playground area. Construction continues across the resort properties, affecting guest transportation and pool access at certain hotels while new attractions and dining options are being developed for future guests.
