Disney World Closures and Upcoming Attractions Update for July 2025

Disney World is experiencing a mix of closures and exciting new developments as the parks prepare for upcoming events. Several attractions have closed for refurbishment, including Carousel of Progress which will not reopen until 2027, while Big Top Souvenirs has finally reopened after being closed since February. The Rivers of America area in Magic Kingdom has permanently closed to make way for the new Cars-themed Piston Peak attraction, with construction already underway on Tom Sawyer Island. EPCOT is also seeing changes as Animation Courtyard closes to become Walt Disney Studios, featuring a new Drawn to Wonderland play area and Star Wars Launch Bay transformation. Resort guests should note that boat transportation at Old Key West Resort will be unavailable through early August due to dock closures. Meanwhile, construction continues across various resorts including Polynesian Village and Bay Lake Tower, with some dining venues like Yachtsman Steakhouse reopening in late August. The BoardWalk is also changing as Jellyrolls closes permanently but will be replaced by a new lounge called Hurly-Burly.
