Walt Disney World disclosed five serious injury reports during the second quarter of 2026, marking the lowest count since late 2023. A tragic fatality occurred when a 54-year-old man experienced a cardiac emergency while riding It’s a Small World at Magic Kingdom, though he had a known heart condition. Two other Magic Kingdom incidents involved a 75-year-old woman sustaining a head injury exiting Space Mountain and a 44-year-old man feeling back pain on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure due to his pre-existing health issues. At EPCOT, a 74-year-old visitor experienced nausea and vomiting on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, while a 41-year-old woman suffered a head laceration on a slide at Blizzard Beach water park. Despite these isolated safety events, the resort continues to operate its attractions under strict self-reporting requirements for any injury requiring hospitalization beyond 24 hours.
