Downtown Disney still Reopening on July 9th Despite Climb in COVID-19 Cases downtown disney

Downtown Disney, the outdoor shopping center at the Disneyland Resort, is still scheduled to reopen next week despite increasing COVID-19 cases. The state of California also recently renewed some restrictions on restaurants and other businesses.

Disney announced its reopening plans for the Disneyland Resort last month. The Downtown Disney District is scheduled to reopen July 9. The theme parks were supposed to reopen July 17, with two of the resort hotels opening later in July. The theme park and hotel reopenings have been delayed due to the state not approving reopening measures until after July 4.

Downtown Disney will still be able to open and operate since a number of the restaurants have outdoor seating or patios. Masks and temperature checks will still be required as well as social distancing measures, which Disney previously laid out.

The most recent restrictions from the state government include the closing of bars. Ballast Point, a brewery located in Downtown Disney, will not be opening when the shopping district reopens next week.

We will continue to update with news about the reopening of the Disneyland Resort as we receive more information.
