EPCOT has introduced a new species of fish to its world-renowned aquarium at The Seas Pavilion. This addition marks the first time the park has housed this particular type of marine life. The new resident is a Napoleon Wrasse, an endangered species native to the Indo-Pacific region. Disney has given the fish the name Toa, which means warrior or victor in Maori language. This male specimen can grow up to 90 inches long and weigh as much as 421 pounds when fully mature. The fish plays a crucial role in coral reef ecosystems by consuming crown-of-thorns sea stars that damage reefs through overgrazing. Conservationists note that this species is protected in many countries due to its endangered status. Visitors can now observe this remarkable creature swimming among the millions of gallons of water at EPCOT.
