Gertie the Dinosaur at Disney Hollywood Studios has been freshly painted as part of the ongoing Echo Lake refurbishment. The iconic dinosaur now sports a vibrant teal-green exterior with consistent color throughout. Previously worn patches and a visible water line near her base have been completely covered with fresh paint. Snowy white details along her head and back also received new coats of paint to enhance her appearance. The Dinosaur Ice Cream of Extinction stand remained open and operational throughout the painting process. While the lagoon was drained in August for work, Gertie’s refurbishment continues to delight park visitors. Disney Jollywood Nights guests can purchase an exclusive Gertie Loungefly bag this year. This beloved landmark inspired by Winsor McCay’s 1914 animated short film is receiving special attention during this season.
