Happy Ice, a Los Angeles-based Italian ice chain, has opened a permanent location in Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney after years of operating as a food truck there. The menu features Happy Ice Specials, which combine multiple Italian ice flavors, with large servings at $12. The reviewer sampled the Summertime flavor, a mix of mango, strawberry, and watermelon, and found it delicious and far superior to typical theme park shaved ice. An optional ice cream add-on, made with oat milk, was described as too heavy and artificial tasting, and would be skipped next time. The permanent spot is located near Parkside Market and across from Star Wars Trading Post. Despite stiff competition from other Downtown Disney dessert offerings like Salt & Straw, Happy Ice has proven to be a crowd-pleasing addition to the resort.
