Happy Ice Opens New Cart at Downtown Disney District on Juneteenth

A new premium Philadelphia Italian ice brand called Happy Ice is launching its first permanent location in the Downtown Disney District. Founded by Lemeir Mitchell, this Black-owned business makes ultra-vibrant fruit-forward frozen treats that have already gained popularity throughout Southern California. The grand opening occurs on Juneteenth, a historically significant holiday that aligns perfectly with the brand’s values of progress and community celebration. To mark this milestone, the first fifty guests will receive exclusive T-shirts while the next fifty will get custom tote bags as part of the opening day festivities. The cart operates daily from 11 AM to 11 PM and features an all-natural menu made with real fruit, pure cane sugar, and premium ingredients. Visitors can enjoy classic Italian ice alongside new layered desserts combining famous flavors with nostalgic comfort foods like banana pudding and strawberry shortcake. This historic launch represents a significant moment for the Downtown Disney District as it welcomes its first permanent Black-owned dessert company.
