Jeff Vahle has completed his final day as President of Walt Disney World, marking the end of a 36-year career with the Walt Disney Company that began in 1990. Vahle held leadership roles at Disney California Adventure, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disney Resort before becoming President of Walt Disney World in 2020, overseeing roughly 80,000 Cast Members across four theme parks, 25 resort hotels, and two water parks. His tenure saw mixed reactions from fans but left Walt Disney World seemingly back on track after several challenging years. Joe Schott, a veteran Disney leader with more than 40 years of experience, will assume the presidency on August 3, 2026, coming most recently from leading Disney Signature Experiences where he oversaw new cruise ship launches. Schott previously served as President and General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort during a major expansion phase and has held leadership roles at Tokyo Disney Resort and Disneyland Paris. The change completes a broader leadership reorganization at Disney Parks and Resorts that began when Josh D’Amaro became Disney CEO, followed by Thomas Mazloum taking over Parks and Resorts. Many fans express optimism that Schott can continue positive momentum with his extensive international expertise.
