Jim Cummings Replaced as Voice of Darkwing Duck in Disney+ Reboot

Voice acting legend Jim Cummings has announced he will not return to voice Drake Mallard, also known as Darkwing Duck, in the upcoming Disney+ series reboot. Although Cummings recorded a pilot several years ago that was highly praised by fans, Disney has decided to pursue a new direction for the core voice cast of the project. The studio is also replacing the character of Launchpad McQuack, originally voiced by the late Terry McGovern, with a different actor for this revival. This decision marks a significant change from the original series that ran from 1991 to 1992 and became a beloved staple of Disney Afternoon programming. Cummings expressed his surprise at the recasting while wishing the new cast members success in their roles.
