Disney has announced that tickets for the live-action adaptation of Moana are now available for purchase. A new trailer was released to showcase the epic cinematic journey set to premiere in theaters on July 10, 2026. The film features Dwayne Johnson reprising his role as Maui and Jemaine Clement returning as the voice of Tamatoa. Director Thomas Kail, known for Hamilton, is leading the production alongside a team that includes Lin-Manuel Miranda. The movie will include original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina with an original score by Mancina. Auli’i Cravalho from the animated version serves as an executive producer along with other key producers. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets through major theater retailers before opening weekend sells out.
