Multiple major construction projects are underway across Walt Disney World, with significant closures and refurbishments affecting hotels and theme parks. At Magic Kingdom, the Rivers of America area has permanently closed to make way for a new Cars-themed land called Piston Peak, which will feature two new attractions. DinoLand USA at Animal Kingdom has closed for the Tropical Americas land Pueblo Esperanza, including an Indiana Jones and Encanto ride. MuppetVision 3D and surrounding areas are being converted into a Monsters Inc land called Monstropolis. Several hotels including Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club, Saratoga Springs, and Bay Lake Tower are undergoing extensive renovations through 2027. The Carousel of Progress is closed for a major refurbishment that will modernize its scenes with a new Walt Disney animatronic, set to reopen in 2027. Transportation changes include the temporary closure of boat service from Old Key West to Disney Springs with bus alternatives available.
