Disney has added a new pre-show sequence to the Zootopia experience at the Tree of Life Theater inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The scene introduces Mayor Brian Winddancer, voiced by Patrick Warburton, who welcomes guests to the citywide Zoogether Day celebration. Walt Disney Imagineering teamed up with animators from Walt Disney Animation Studios to develop the character sequence and align it with the show’s timing. Overnight technical rehearsals were conducted to synchronize audio, lighting, special effects, and figure animation before the public debut. Mayor Winddancer quickly became a breakout character following his appearance in Zootopia 2, and Disney credits his fan popularity as the reason for including him in the theater experience. The updated pre-show is now live for guests visiting Discovery Island at Animal Kingdom.
