July Fourth brought special celebrations at Disney and Universal Orlando, including a military flyover at Magic Kingdom and character meet-and-greets in patriotic costumes. Disney faced criticism over its new streetwear brand .YNSD, created by Imagineers, which many felt missed the mark. The Carousel of Progress closed for a major refurbishment featuring new scenes and an audio-animatronic of Walt Disney. A piece of the Berlin Wall at Universal’s Hard Rock Cafe was relocated due to new coaster construction nearby. Disney announced a partnership with Kraft Heinz to feature their brands across parks and cruise line offerings. New food items debuted at Epic Universe and elsewhere, including themed milkshakes and mobile-order pizza stations.
