This dessert features classic French Valrhona chocolate cake layers filled with marshmallow buttercream, Belgian chocolate ganache, and mini marshmallows. While the marshmallow icing was soft and airy, the mini glittery marshmallows inside did not taste as fresh as expected. The thin dark chocolate ganache layer failed to match the light flavor profile of the rest of the cake effectively. Additionally, the plain chocolate cake itself was surprisingly dry and created an odd consistency when combined with the fluffy frosting. Despite these issues, reviewers suspect this might have been a specific batch that had been sitting out for some time rather than a typical product flaw.
