Disney has planted six new palm trees at the EPCOT entrance near Spaceship Earth, replacing those removed in May after winter cold snaps caused damage. The previous display had ten trees, five on each side, while the updated layout includes three on each side for a total of six. The new palms have thicker trunks and fuller fronds, refreshing the park’s front area and restoring some shade. They are located in flowerbeds near the character meet-and-greet mural and the wheelchair rental station. The replacements follow other tree removals that opened up a clearer view of Spaceship Earth for arriving guests. Although the fountain in front of Spaceship Earth remains inactive, the greenery adds life to the entrance plaza. The update gives EPCOT’s entrance a rejuvenated and more tropical appearance.
