RunDisney has announced a new virtual event called the Virtual Spooktacular Challenge, allowing participants to complete races from home without traveling to Disney World. Registration opens on August 11th at 10 AM EST and costs $185 for entry into three different distance options available throughout October. The three race distances include a 3-mile Dig & Dash with a light-up medal, a 4-mile Headless Horseman Pursuit featuring an audio-enhanced medal, and a 6-mile Eternal Waltz with a Constance-themed Infinity Mirror medal. Completing all three races earns participants the 2026 Virtual Spooktacular Challenge commemorative medal. Since this is a virtual event based on honor system participation, runners must complete the distances themselves without official tracking by Disney organizers. The announcement encourages fans to prepare their payment information in advance as registration slots fill up quickly each year.
