The Orlando Dreamers organization is advancing its efforts to secure a Major League Baseball franchise by presenting new visual plans for a domed stadium. This proposed ballpark would seat approximately 45,000 fans and be situated along the International Drive corridor near State Road 528. The project carries an estimated cost of $2 billion, with the group seeking $975 million in funding from Orange County’s Tourist Development Tax. Private investors are expected to contribute a substantial portion of the remaining financial requirements for this ambitious development initiative. Beyond the stadium itself, surrounding areas will undergo additional construction to create a comprehensive sports and entertainment district near one of Orlando’s most popular tourist destinations. Economic projections suggest the project could generate over 38,000 construction jobs and more than 52,000 permanent positions while producing billions in economic activity across multiple decades. However, significant challenges remain as county officials review nearly $3 billion in competing funding requests with limited available resources for tourism tax contributions.
