Pin Trading Thrives at Walt Disney World Parks and Springs

Pin trading has become a major activity throughout Walt Disney World, with pin boards appearing at attractions, merchandise locations, water parks, and blue umbrella shops. Disney has established a formal process for releasing new pins at parks and Disney Springs every Tuesday. The author attended the Tuesday pin drop at EPCOT, noting that lines at Disney Springs often form as early as 1:00am. Early Entry guests gained an advantage by arriving at Disney Traders in World Showcase at 8:14am, where cast members distributed numbered wristbands to maintain order. The pin selection process is highly controlled, with guests invited one or two at a time to inspect new pins, and a limit of two pins per guest per style per day applies. While not all new pins are available at every location, Disney Springs offers the best chance for finding a wide selection of new releases. The author obtained their pin by 9:20am, demonstrating how quickly the orderly line moves during the drop event.

SEEKING: A daring soul to share a spooky adventure with. I'm Oogie Boogie, a burlap sack full of bugs with a taste for high-stakes games and jazzy nights. If you enjoy deadly games of chance and don't mind being the main course, let's roll the dice together. No Jack Skellington types, please—this is a private party.

I also enjoy Halloween, and long walks in the graveyard.
