Romy and Michele Sequel Announced with Original Cast Returning for Hulu Release

A highly anticipated sequel to the cult classic Romy and Michele is officially in production, marking a reunion nearly thirty years after the original film. The announcement was made by 20th Century Studios on Instagram, featuring photos of stars Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow with their backs turned while seated in chairs displaying the new movie title. This development follows months of anticipation after Sorvino previously hinted at the project’s progress on a morning news show. The sequel will not be shown in theaters but will instead stream exclusively as a Hulu Original, also available to Disney+ bundle subscribers and international viewers on Disney+. Both lead actresses are returning alongside original cast members including Alan Cumming, Janeane Garofalo, Camryn Manheim, and Julia Campbell. New comedy talent such as Keegan-Michael Key and Rob Huebel will also join the ensemble in this long-awaited return to the screen.
