The Most Romantic Places in Magic Kingdom

As Valentine’s Day approaches in a few weeks we’ve pulled together romantic places in each of the theme parks. We’ve explored the places you can spark romance in EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. But now it is time for the park that most people associate with fairy tale romance — Magic Kingdom. Let’s explore some of the most romantic places in Magic Kingdom.

  • Tony’s Town Square Restaurant
  • Be Our Guest Restaurant
  • Cinderella’s Royal Table
  • Prince Charming’s Golden Carrousel
  • Cinderella’s Wishing Well
  • Cinderella Castle Hub
  • Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room

Right now some of our favorite romantic spots, like the second story of the Main Street Train Station and the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor are closed. But, as you can see from the list above there are plenty of other options. Tony’s Town Square Restaurant receives mixed reviews, but there’s no denying the romantic atmosphere. This restaurant is based on the cute couple in “Lady and the Tramp” and is the only table service restaurant in Magic Kingdom with outdoor seating.

Two fairy tale restaurants are both located in Fantasyland. There’s no denying the charming atmosphere of both Be Our Guest Restaurant and Cinderella’s Royal Table. You really cannot go wrong with either one for a romantic meal, though Cinderella’s Royal Table is generally not as loud as Be Our Guest and has lovely views.

Also in Fantasyland is Prince Charming’s Regal Carrousel. This picturesque carousel is at the heart of Fantasyland and affords wonderful views as you make your rounds on the ride. Snap some cute photos and enjoy a romantic ride together.

Two more Cinderella-themed destinations are great romantic spots. Cinderella’s Wishing Well is located on the walkway between the Castle and Tomorrowland, near where Merida would normally have her meet and greet. In front of Cinderella Castle is the hub which now has an expanse of “grass” and a little fountain on either side of Main Street. This is a perfect spot for photos or just relaxing together and taking in the views and music.

Finally, Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room is a romantic spot because it is a tropical hideaway. Whether tiki culture is your thing or not, this attraction is a classic. It’s a great place to rest your feet and sit close together as the tropical birds serenade you.

What’s your favorite romantic spot in Magic Kingdom? Is there any place you would add to our list?

Here’s 3 More Walt Disney World Tips Most People Forget About

Disney experts pride themselves on their Disney knowledge, but there’s just so much information to remember. We’ve recently been sharing Walt Disney World tips that not everyone remembers. Let’s look at three more tips that most people forget.

  1. You can place mobile order anytime during park hours
  2. You can bring your own food
  3. You can send mail from Walt Disney World

Most Disney-owned quick service restaurants now offer mobile ordering, and are essentially using it exclusively. One way you can save time, and frustration, is to mobile order your food in advance. By the time lunch time actually rolls around your ideal pick-up time may not be available. You can place your mobile order anytime during park operating hours and select any available timeslot.

There’s been times when I have been at my home some 30 miles away and placed my order ahead time so I have one less thing to do when I am actually at the park itself. Be sure to familiarize yourself with how to use Disney’s Mobile Ordering.

While Disney does have some fantastic food and beverages, some guests may prefer to bring their own food, or at least some of their own snacks. You can bring your own food into the theme parks and water parks, under certain guidelines. No glass or loose ice is allowed. And Disney’s official guidelines state that no preparation can be necessary such as cooking the food in any way.

Guest Relations at Magic Kingdom (photo is pre COVID-19)

You can send and receive mail at select locations at Walt Disney World. Every theme park has at least one mailbox at which you can slip in letters or postcards that have postage. You can also visit Guest Relations at the park to drop off letters or postcards to be sent out. The Front Desk at any Disney resort hotel can do so as well. If you need stamps you can purchase them at select merchandise shops. At the Disney resort hotels you can receive mail. You’ll just need to make sure the resort’s address is on the package and your name with the word “Guest” clearly written. There is a $6.00 handling fee for any packages received.

Here’s the first 3 tips we shared, and the second round of 3 tips most people forget about, in case you want to brush up on your expertise.

Top 3 Reasons to Visit Walt Disney World With a Toddler

There’s usually a lot of debate as to whether or not you should take your child to Walt Disney World when they’re too young to remember it. My son has now crossed the three year old threshold and I have to say, taking my toddler to Walt Disney World during his teeny tiny years has been great. After three years of Disney visits with my son from infanthood to toddlerhood I would like to share the top three reasons to visit Walt Disney World with a toddler.

  1. Children under 3 years of age are free
  2. Priceless interactions and pictures
  3. An excuse to do all the rides that are best for little ones

Saving a few hundred dollars by not having to pay for your little one that’s under three years of age is so awesome. I am going to miss it so much! Lots of folks say there is no point to bringing a young child to Walt Disney World since they won’t remember it. I can see their point, but I have seen how my son’s interaction with Walt Disney World has evolved from infanthood to toddlerhood. He may not have vivid memories of these visits as he gets older, but there is no doubt impressions were made. And besides, I didn’t have to pay a ticket for him anyway. Of course, our situation is a little unique since we are local and had annual passes since before he was born.

After visiting multiple times over the past few years, I would say that of the range from infant to toddler, just after he turned two seems like the sweet spot. When he was an infant there were some great moments, and it was so nice being able to keep him in his holder and not have to worry about him wanting to break free of his stroller. But, infants need regular naps and regular feedings, and as much consistency as possible. Just about the time he turned two years old we could have more flexibility and he could interact with the experiences around him. The threenager rebellion and defiance hadn’t kicked in just making for less chance of a Disney meltdown.

The photos we have of him from this past year of visits are priceless to us. Granted as the situation changed over this year, we did not visit near as much as we had hoped at the start of the year. But seeing the awe and wonder as our little toddler explored Walt Disney World puts a big smile on my face.

Before you know it, your little toddler will be a preeteen or a teenager and rides that are “for babies” will be off limits – too much embarrassment involved. So get those cute rides in now. Go on Dumbo, visit Pooh Bear, sail aboard it’s a small world, say hi to Nemo and friends – do all the rides that are best for little ones. After all, our littles ones are only little once.

I would like to be clear that I am not necessarily saying now is the time to visit. In the age of the pandemic and necessary COVID-19 precautions, each family needs to decide for themselves if everyone in their party can accept and follow the precautions and feel comfortable, or not. These reasons for visiting Walt Disney World with a toddler apply any time it is right for you and your family.

Have you ever visited Walt Disney World with a toddler? Would you recommend it?

How to Walk from Disney’s Coronado Springs to Blizzard Beach, Winter Summerland, and McDonald’s

Not too long ago we posted a guide on how to navigate Walt Disney World by foot. One of our awesome readers pointed out that Disney’s Coronado Springs is walkable to Winter Summerland mini-golf and Disney’s Blizzard Beach, as well as the McDonald’s near Osceola Parkway. Ivonne on our team kindly obliged to embark on said walk. With photos and tips, here’s how to walk from Disney’s Coronado Springs to Blizzard Beach, Winter Summerland, and McDonald’s.

No sidewalk coming and going at Coronado Springs

First, let’s start off with the big challenge this walk presents. There is no sidewalk leading out of Disney’s Coronado Springs. When you walk towards the front entrance of the resort there is no sidewalk, so you’ll need to be very careful and aware as you walk on the road leading in and out of the resort. Please pay attention, and look and listen for traffic (insert stern mother voice here).

There is, thankfully, a pedestrian crosswalk from the entrance to the resort to cross Buena Vista Drive, which you will need to do in order to reach the sidewalk. Once you have crossed Buena Vista Drive, turn right to walk on the sidewalk along Buena Vista Drive and head towards Blizzard Beach and Winter Summerland. It generally takes 15 minutes to walk from Disney’s Coronado Springs to Winter Summerland.

If you wish to continue on to McDonald’s continue to follow the sidewalk. You will come to an intersection with an overpass for Osceola Parkway. Continue along the crosswalk to go under the overpass and you’ll see the McDonald’s just a few more steps away. It generally takes about 10 more minutes from Winter Summerland to the McDonald’s.

It is important to note that the McDonald’s does not have any seating available right now. That’s right, this brand new, state-of-the-art McDonald’s has closed all of its seating for the time being. Only its drive-thru is open.

Going beyond the McDonald’s, the sidewalk continues over to the currently closed All-Star Resorts.

Have you stayed at Coronado Springs Resort? Would you walk to Blizzard Beach, Winter Summerland, or McDonald’s?

Here’s 3 More Disney World Vacation Tips That Everyone Forgets About

There’s lots to know when planning your Walt Disney World vacation. Even seasoned Disney fans can forget some of the smaller details and tips. We aim to make our website and Lines app as helpful as possible. We’ve previously shared three tips for visiting Walt Disney World that practically everyone forgets about, and we figured we’d share three more.

  1. Parking and transportation opens about 45 minutes before opening
  2. Baby Care Centers and First Aid
  3. You can walk through attraction queues without riding

Parking and transportation opens about 45 minutes before opening

One of the keys to maximizing your time and avoiding long lines at Walt Disney World is getting there early. The famed rope drop experience allows many guests to get multiple attractions under their belt in the first hour of park operation. The key is to get to the park itself well before opening.

Disney resort transportation from the hotels as well as the theme park parking lots generally open about 45 minutes prior to the scheduled opening time of the park. On busier days, like peak holidays, this can even be stretched to an hour before opening.

Baby Care Centers and First Aid

Whether you’re a parent of an infant or a preschooler, Disney’s Baby Care Centers are a godsend. Each of the four parks has one. They are marked on the maps and MyDisneyExperience app, and are generally located near the center of each park. Any Cast Member should be able to direct you if you have any trouble finding it. Here you can purchase any forgotten baby supplies like diapers, pull-ups, wipes, pacifiers, baby food, and more. You can also change diapers in a space that is much less congested than the regular restrooms throughout the park. Nursing rooms are also available.

Each park also has a First Aid Station, usually near the Baby Care Center. Here you can get help with basic medical needs including some over-the-counter medications. I have utilized them for allergic reactions and dehydration, and appreciate the wonderful Cast Members and RNs here so much.

You can walk through attraction queues without riding

Walt Disney World does an awesome job of creating queues for attractions that are entertaining and immersive. Disney is big on storytelling and the story usually begins the moment you walk into the queue. But, not every ride is for every person. If you want to join your group as they wait in line, or if you just want to experience one of the cool queues, you can walk through without having to get on the ride. Just let the Cast Member at the boarding area know you do not wish to ride and they will point you in the direction of the exit. Of course, you should check the Expected Wait Time in our Lines app first to make sure you won’t be waiting too long.
