One Of Our Fav Margarita Joints Just Reopened in Disney World!

It’s like a whole new world has opened up at Disney World today since May 20th when only a few Disney Springs spots reopened.

And while we’ve been waiting for stores like Ever After Jewelry Co. & Accessories as well as Goofy’s Candy Company to reopen, we weren’t quite expecting to see this spot resume its margarita-making business so quickly!

But sure enough, Dockside Margaritas has reopened at Disney Springs! Last month we ran into some Dockside Cast Members who were manning Disney Springs’ outdoor pop-up bar carts while the bars they worked at remained closed due to Governor Ron DeSantis’ orders.

But now that most of Florida has moved into phase two of the state’s recovery plan, bars are officially a GO! Disney Springs has given Dockside Margaritas the green light and they’re once again churnin’ out their delicious frozen beverages!

We noticed the ordering window has had a new plexiglass shield installed and several social distancing markers have been placed on the ground outside so guests can space themselves out while waiting for their margs!

If You’re Planning to Visit Disney World From One of THESE States Soon, You Need to Read THIS!

Disney has announced Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will be reopening on July 11th followed by Epcot and Hollywood Studios on July 15th.

Magic Kingdom

Due to limited capacity, guests will be required to have valid theme park admission and a hotel booking to have priority access to the new reservation system before the parks reopen. But one of the biggest questions many would-be-guests are seeking clarity on is whether they’ll even be allowed to travel to Florida because of where they reside.

New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut have experienced widespread community transmission during the global crisis which resulted in Florida implementing a tri-state quarantine for residents of these states. Guests entering Florida from these states were being directed to quarantine themselves for 14 days upon entry. The order was originally set to expire on May 8th, but was extended an additional 60 days to end on July 7th.

While Governor DeSantis has announced most of Florida is moving into Phase 2 of his reopening plan, he still hasn’t announced another extension for the tri-state quarantine. At this point, it seems the executive order is less contingent on the actual phases of the Governor’s plan and will expire with the State of Emergency order on July 7th.

So for now, guests in these states should keep an eye on the news out of Florida concerning this rule. If it expires, they’ll be free to visit the theme parks once they reopen, but if the governor decides to extend it, this would mean guests from these states will be forced to quarantine and miss out on the parks.

Louisiana residents can rest easy as well — they are no longer being required to quarantine when entering Florida at this time. We’ll continue to follow this developing story and let you know if anything changes with the Governor’s tri-state order or Florida’s State of Emergency.

Disney World is launching a new perk for hotel guests starting June 22nd! Learn more here!

NEWS: Florida Governor Announces Most of State Will Move Into Phase Two of Reopening This Friday

Florida has spent the last month in Phase One of Governor Ron DeSantis’s Safe. Smart. Step-by-Step. Plan for Florida’s Recovery.

Palm Trees

And today, Governor Ron DeSantis was present at Universal Orlando Resort which is currently hosting an Annual Passholder preview ahead of its June 5th reopening to the public. It was here that Governor DeSantis made an announcement that most of the state will enter Phase Two this Friday as well.

Within Phase Two (which excludes Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties), the Governor stated that the major changes Floridians will notice include the reopening of bars and movie theaters, along with some additional venues.

The BOATHOUSE Bar in Disney Springs

Bars and pubs will be permitted to operate at 50% capacity inside and at full capacity outdoors for dine-in service. Movie theaters and entertainment venues such as bowling alleys will also be able to open at 50% capacity (and with “appropriate social distancing and sanitation protocols”).

Phase Two will also see the opening of what was referred to as “Pari-mutual facilities,” which host things like slots, racing wagers and cardrooms. They will also be expected to observe strict safety guidelines.

As a reminder, Walt Disney World will begin reopening to guests on July 11th, first by opening Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom on July 11th, followed by EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15th. You can read more about the upcoming reopening of the Resort by visiting any of the links below.
