Disney World Presents Reopening Plan TOMORROW

Now that Univeral Orlando has successfully had its plan approved to reopen its theme parks to the public on June 5th, Disney World is about to undergo the same process.

Cinderella Castle

Disney World will be presenting its plan to Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings at 10AM Eastern tomorrow morning. If accepted by the Mayor and his committee, it will be passed to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for final approval along with a possible reopening date for Disney World’s theme parks.

Mayor Demings said the highly-anticipated presentation will be happening tomorrow morning and that he’s already previewed Disney World’s plan this morning. “We’re looking forward to sharing good news about their plans,” Demings stated.

Florida’s Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force will vote first on the plan before submitting it to the Governor’s office. SeaWorld is also expected to present its reopening plan tomorrow as well.

Magic Kingdom

In preparation for tomorrow’s big meeting, an Orange County Inspection team visited Disney World and SeaWorld today to determine if they were in compliance with recommended guidelines. We’ll continue to follow this story as it develops.

News: Walt Disney World Will Propose Reopening Date and Plan Tomorrow

As of now, Orlando area theme parks such as Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando have not announced reopening dates.

Florida Palms

Universal Orlando’s CityWalk and Disney Springs have reopened certain retail and dining locations to guests and SeaWorld is performing test runs of their coasters with masked riders — but none of these companies have shared a timeline for reopening their theme parks.

Florida stepped into “full Phase One” of the state’s reopening plan this past Monday allowing restaurants, retail, museums, and libraries to increase capacity to 50%. In this phase, amusement parks are not cleared to open, but Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, requested for theme parks to submit plans for reopening after they have been endorsed by local officials.

Orlando

This process begins tomorrow, May 21st, as the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force plans to meet and listen to the theme parks’ presentations on how and when they plan to reopen.

Florida

The Mayor of Orange County, Jerry Demings, is required to sign off on these plans before they will be presented to Governor DeSantis. We will keep you updated as we learn more!
