NEWS! Disney Springs Updates Operating Hours

Disney Springs started Disney World’s phased reopening on May 20th by opening select third-party shopping and dining experiences.

Disney Springs

Disney-owned locations like World of Disney and Marketplace Co-Op joined in on May 27th. Disney Springs has been open from 10AM to 10PM, but this schedule just got an update.

According to the Disney Springs website, Disney Springs will now be closing each day at 7PM beginning today, May 31st, and continuing “until further notice.”

Restaurants such as Morimoto Asia are seating their last reservations at 6PM to accommodate the new hours.

Our last reservation will be at 6:00 pm to comply with Orange County’s 10 p.m. curfew, effective today, Sunday, May 31st. This will allow our employees and guests time to return home. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Disney Springs Is a Little Busier Today With a Short Virtual Queue in Place

We brought you along with us to see the reopening of Disney-owned locations in Disney Springs this week.

Disney Springs

In the days before these locations opened, Disney Springs was consistently pretty quiet. But the morning World of Disney reopened, things were bonkers. We’re talking a six hour wait bonkers. But we’re back in Disney Springs again today to see if crowds are still steady.

The new reopening procedures at Disney-owned locations such as World of Disney and the Marketplace Co-Op brought about a virtual queue system to manage crowds. Similar to the virtual queues in the parks for things like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Rise of the Resistance, guests sign up to be part of a virtual line at the front of the attraction (or store, in this case). Once your name is on the list, you can stroll through Disney Springs until you receive a text that it’s your turn to shop.

Virtual Queue

As we mentioned, reopening day was BUSY, but it seems as though crowds are winding down each day. Even on a weekend, we were able to walk right in to World of Disney with no wait.

Inside World of Disney

By the time we visited Marketplace Co-Op, the store was at capacity and a virtual queue was in place. BUT, it took less than five minutes to receive a text that we were cleared to return and shop.

Marketplace Co-Op Virtual Queue

We’ll keep you updated as crowd levels are continually in flux, but compared to opening day — Disney’s stores are much less busy today.

Check out where we spotted a Baby Yoda plush today in Disney Springs here!

Have you visited Disney Springs since it reopened? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Complete Update on all of the Disney World Changes

Disney World Castle

Disney has released a lot of updates and information this week regarding the Walt Disney World Resort. It can be a bit overwhelming and confusing keeping it all straight, so we put it all in one place.

Disney submitted and received approval to begin the phased reopening of Walt Disney World Resort. Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will reopen on July 11th with Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopening on July 15th.

Park hours will be reduced and capacity limited. Extra Magic Hours are also suspended.

Some experiences, like parades and nighttime spectaculars, will return at a later date. In addition, “high touch” experiences such as makeovers, playgrounds, and character meet & greets will remain temporarily unavailable. Characters will still be in the parks to entertain and delight guests during their visit.

Park attendance will be managed by a new theme park reservation system. To enter a park, both valid admission and a park reservation will be required. Disney hasn’t released any more specific information regarding this new system.

As a result of the new limited capacity regulations, Disney has decided to cancel the following: dining reservations, FastPass+ reservations, offerings and experience bookings (like behind the scenes tours), and Disney Dining Plans. When dining reservations are able to be booked again, they will only be allowed 60 days in advance instead of 180.

As for Walt Disney World Resort hotels, DVC properties and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will reopen on June 22nd. DVC properties in Vero Beach, Florida, and Hilton Head South Carolina will reopen June 15th.

At this time, ticket sales and new resort hotel reservations have been temporarily paused while Disney focuses on guests with existing reservations.

Disney will be implementing extra health and safety protocols upon reopening. All guests ages 2 and up will be required to wear a face covering, temperature checks will be done when entering the parks, and physical distancing measures will be implemented throughout the parks.

We will continue to provide updates as Disney releases more information.
