Theme Park Designers Build New Orlando Holocaust Museum

The Holocaust Museum for Hope & Humanity is being constructed in downtown Orlando with a budget of $63 million. A design firm known for creating theme park experiences, MDSX, has been hired to craft the exhibits using narrative architecture techniques. This approach focuses on storytelling through physical spaces to evoke emotion rather than relying on traditional artifact displays. The new facility will be approximately 25,000 square feet, tripling the size of the current museum location. Groundbreaking is scheduled for late this year, with the grand opening planned for 2028. The museum will highlight the personal stories of eight Holocaust survivors who reside in Florida. This project marks a shift toward human-centric narratives over perpetrator-focused history.
