Tower of Terror Covered in Scaffolding for Refurbishment

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is undergoing an extensive exterior refurbishment that has expanded from minor work to a massive project. Scaffolding and protective scrims now cover the entire front elevation, upper roofline, and the iconic marquee sign. Crews are repainting decorative elements with fresh pink paint on roof friezes and applying primer and gray touch-ups along balconies and chimneys. Red plastic wrapping protects open windows while work continues behind the scaffolding grid. Despite the imposing temporary appearance, the attraction remains fully operational for guests. Imagineers strategically left gaps in the scaffolding around elevator shaft doors so riders can still enjoy their iconic view before the thrilling drop sequence. Work is expected to complete ahead of the busy holiday season, though no official end date has been announced yet.
