Construction is advancing on the new Tropical Americas area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The entrance arch to Pablo Esperanza is now clearly visible and taking recognizable shape, matching concept art released by Disney. Meanwhile, the Discovery Island path is partially behind construction walls for regular maintenance, though the Zootopia show continues operating. The Zootopia show has been enhanced with a new scene featuring Mayor Brian Winddancer, voiced by Patrick Warburton, adding a silly and enjoyable element. New red and blue umbrellas have been added to the Discovery River Theater seating, possibly to provide shade from the Florida sun or hinting at a new show. Tropical Americas is expected to open sometime in 2027, and further updates are anticipated.
