TSA Introduces Gateside Program for Non-Travelers at Airports

The Transportation Security Administration is launching a new initiative called Gateside that allows registered members to access secure areas of airports without having an active flight. This program enables travelers and their companions to move through security checkpoints even when they are not boarding a plane themselves. The initiative aims to enhance the airport experience by allowing friends and family to join departing passengers before flights or during layovers for meetups, dining, and shopping opportunities. Currently available at thirteen airports nationwide, the Gateside program is free for anyone who applies and receives approval through the TSA website. As this unique feature expands to additional locations in coming months, it represents a significant shift in how airports manage access to secure zones beyond traditional passenger travel needs.
