Universal Announces New Kid-Focused Theme Park in Texas for 2026 Opening

Universal Studios is launching a new theme park specifically designed for young children, called Universal Kids Resort. Scheduled to open on July 1, 2026, the resort will be located in Frisco, Texas, just outside Dallas. This marks the first time Universal has created a park targeting such a specific age group of visitors. The facility will span nearly 100 acres and include seven themed lands featuring popular franchises like Shrek, SpongeBob SquarePants, Minions, Jurassic World, Trolls, Puss in Boots, and Gabby’s Dollhouse. A 300-room hotel with family-friendly accommodations will be situated at the park entrance to support overnight stays. The park emphasizes interactive play areas, character meet-and-greets scaled for little ones, and sensory gardens to help families manage overwhelming moments during their visit. Ticket sales and vacation packages are already available for booking starting in June 2026. This development reflects a growing trend among theme parks to create dedicated spaces catering exclusively to younger audiences with age-appropriate attractions.
