Families planning a trip to the new Universal Kids Resort should note that it will not operate daily like other Universal Orlando parks. The resort, located in Frisco, Texas, is scheduled to open on July 1, 2026. During its first winter season, the park will close on select days throughout November, December, and January rather than shutting down for extended periods. These closure dates are subject to change and additional closures may be added at the resort’s discretion. The theme park is designed specifically for younger children and their families with immersive lands based on DreamWorks, Illumination, Nickelodeon, and Jurassic World franchises. Unlike traditional parks focusing on thrill rides, this resort emphasizes hands-on experiences, imaginative play, sensory-friendly spaces, and family interaction through features like chalk drawing areas and water blasters.
