Universal Kids Resort Preview Promising Potential Amid Construction Challenges in Texas Heat

Visitors explored the newly opened Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas, noting both its promising elements and significant areas needing improvement. The park features seven distinct themed lands with well-trained staff and engaging character meet-and-greets that children enjoyed immensely. Highlights include the Goofy Goober ice cream counter, the SpongeBob-themed Barnacle Bus ride, and the water-filled Barrel Splash attraction that provided a welcome break from the intense Texas sun. However, severe lack of shade throughout most outdoor areas created uncomfortable conditions for guests waiting in lines or dining outside. Construction materials were still visible behind trash cans, and several attractions remained unfinished with bare concrete where theming should be present. The review team plans to return on the official opening date to assess improvements before their planned resort stay. Despite current shortcomings, the reviewer expressed genuine support for Universal’s success and hopes they can quickly address these issues.
