Universal Orlando Resort has begun installing new solar-powered trash cans and recycling bins around Universal CityWalk. These innovative bins feature built-in compacting technology that allows them to hold significantly more waste before requiring emptying. The units are powered by solar panels mounted on top, making them an eco-friendly addition to the resort’s infrastructure. Guests can open the bins using a hand mechanism or a foot pedal for convenience after carrying snacks and drinks throughout the day. Most of these new units have been placed along bridges leading toward Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. The bins also feature purple decals, neon-style artwork, and the CityWalk logo to blend seamlessly into the entertainment district. This initiative follows similar solar-powered bin installations at Walt Disney World earlier this summer.
