Walt Disney World is launching its largest expansion yet by adding a fourth ferry boat to serve Magic Kingdom beginning in 2027. This move marks the first increase to the fleet since 1976, aiming to improve transportation capacity between the Transportation and Ticket Center and the park entrance. The new vessel, named the Meg Gilbert Crofton after the resort’s former president, will replace an older design and features similar capacity and aesthetics. Construction is underway at a Florida marina, with assembly expected to complete within a year before the official launch. While the addition addresses growing visitor numbers, full impact may not be realized until major theme park expansions open around 2029. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to enhance guest experience through infrastructure improvements that support future crowd management needs.
